Pearls Package: Trekking in the Passeier Valley

Since October 2009, the Upper Passeier Valley and the community of Moso in Passiria have been part of the “Pearls of the Alps” network. Explore stretches of the Merano and Tirolo high mountain trails, plus the E5 hiking trail and the path around Lake Kummersee. Along with a visit to the new “Bunker Mooseum” in Moso, one of the highlights of the package is a guided tour of what was once the highest mine in Europe on the Schneeberg/Monteneve, with a trip down the tunnels and an overnight stay in a hut on the mountain. The “museummobil card” entitles holders to use all forms of public transport in South Tyrol as well as to visit a number of museums in the region.

Treat yourself to the traditional and archetypal cuisine of the Upper Passeier Valley with
game dishes or “muas and riibl” (a kind of milk pudding and pancakes). The package
includes a Passeier Valley hiking map and the “Meran Region BusCard” with which you
can make use of all forms of public transport in and around the Passeier Valley.

Autumnal Gourmet delights

Autumn is dedicated to culinary treats! On the Sunday the Upper Passeier Valley
landlords invite visitors to partake in the “Bauernkuchl” event at which traditional
dishes are served. A hike to Walter Moosmair’s organic farm and visit to the farmstead
where you can taste his hay soup is the next event during this week, which is rounded
off by a typical Törggele evening, where you can sample the new wines
