  • The alpine pastures in the Val Passiria

    Alpine pasture Val Passiria
As very popular destination of many tourists an excursionists, the alpine pastures occupy an important place in the Val Passiria. But their importance cannot only be limited to the tourism branch. Simply the fact that almost two thirds of the livestock spend about three months on the alpine pastures as well as the circumstance that nearly half of the entire surface of the Val Passiria is covered buy alpine pastures, show their great economic importance for the valley.

A particular position, unique in South Tyrol, is shared by the two biggest alpine pastures of the valley which occupy the valley bottom of Plan and Corvara in the Alta Val Passiria. On the so-called "Gerichtsalmen" Lazins (1600ha) and Timmels (1800 ha), every farmer of the valley has the right to put out to graze his livestock. We invite you to discover the numerous alpine pastures of the Val Passiria and to enjoy the beautiful landscape of the Nature Park Texelgroup.
