A trip to Merano and around
Palm trees with snow-covered mountains of least 3,000 metres height, porticoes from the Middle Ages and picturesque art nouveau architecture, the most beautiful "Turfplatz" of the Alpine range and the preferred destination of Empress Sissi: this is Merano. With its wonderful promenades along the Passeier River, the magnificent Botanic Garden of Castle Trauttmansdorff and the unbelievable variety and sea of blossoms, the "Touriseum", the Tappeiner, the walking promenade over the roofs of the historic centre, the beautiful city theatre and the wonderful "Kursaal".

Bolzano, the provincial capital, ancient trading city and meeting point of two cultures, is east to reach from Val Passiria. Discover the endless sights and attractions that Bolzano has to offer: the museom of Ötzi, the imposing Gothic Cathedral, picturesque and brightly coloured Piazza delle Erbe, Piazza Walther dominated by the statue of the great "Minnesänger", and the majestic Catinaccio towering on the horizon.
Our weekly programme includes daily trips in the Dolomites and northern Italy, to Lake Garda with its olives, cypress trees and limestone rocks.
