History
The history of this nature spoilt valley is as old as mankind. This is shown by the places of worship that can be found in the hamlet of Glaiten and at the "Silberhütt Höhe" above Stulles. The valley was most certainly inhabited much earlier. At the time of the Roman conquests, a pathway was built from Maia (near Merano) through the valley and over the Passo Giovo to Vipiteno (Vipitenum). The valley profited from the commercial route, and not only farms blossomed, but also commerce and gastronomy.
